Bamboo Varieties and Descriptions

Bamboo is a very fast growing and versatile ornamental grass.   There are two types of growth; clump forming and running (also known as grove forming).  Bamboo does best in well drained sandy soil.  All varieties require average amounts of water regularly, but do not over water.  Bamboo should be fertilized with a slow release palm fertilizer with minor elements included such as FE,MN, and MG (Feb., Mar., or April), then periodically throughout the active growth period.(Summer).  Recommended spacing for a hedge row is 5 ft. from center of plant.

We focus on the tropical, clumping bamboo here at the Bamboo Farm.  Below lists the varieties we carry with descriptions and pricing for those currently in stock.  If you have a question regarding a particular variety, click the 'Send Question' link to send us an email.
